College Bridge Program

What is the College Bridge Program?

The mission of the College Bridge Program is to assist Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma tribal members 9th through 12th grade as they seek preparation for entrance into higher education institutions. Students of all academic levels are encouraged to apply. The College Bridge Program will offer academic guidance and mentorship opportunities as well as direct services towards Advanced Placement (AP) exams, ACT/SAT exams, and Concurrent classes. Program participants will agree to provide a copy of their academic transcript to the Higher Education Department after each semester. Program applica­tions are always open, but direct service requests have deadlines. (Please see flyer.)

College Bridge Program Application: This application is for enrolled tribal members of the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma only in high school 9th through 12th grades.

Graduation Stole Application

Graduation Stole Application: Iowa tribal members graduating from high school and higher education may apply for a graduation stole. Please complete the graduation stole application, submit official school letter or document with anticipated graduation date, along with a copy of ITO tribal membership card.

Higher Education Scholarship Program

Higher education assistance is available for any eligible Iowa tribal member pursuing higher education through a degree or certification-seeking, accredited institution. College applicants must be admitted to an accredited institution of higher learning in either a full-time or part-time capacity. College, vo-tech, and trade schools are considered for the higher education scholarship consideration.

DEADLINES for Summer: May 1, Fall: June 30 and Spring: December 1

K12 Private Education Program Assistance

The K12 Private Education Program assistance is available nationwide for Iowa Tribal Members who have been accepted into an accredited K12 private school. With proper documentation and application, Iowa Tribal members will receive funding for full-time students who are enrolled in a full time accredited K12 education institution. Scholarships are limited to a first come first serve basis.

K12 Private Education Application: This application is for enrolled tribal members of the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma ONLY.

K12 Financial Needs Analysis: This form is used to determine financial aid eligibility.

DEADLINES for Fall: June 30 and Spring: December 1

Adult Vocational Training

The Adult Vocational Training program provides assistance to Iowa Tribal members and other eligible Indians who reside within the Iowa Tribe service area that need vocational education for entry into the work force. Only those applicants who declare a desire and intent to accept and retain full time employment will be selected to receive services.

Adult Vocational Training Application: Applicant must be 18 years of age, except if 17 years of age at graduation as a high school student.

Direct Employment Assistance

The purpose of the Direct Employment Assistance program is to assist Iowa Tribal members and other eligible Indians who have a job skill to obtain and retain permanent employment. Applicants must be adult Indians residing within the Iowa Tribe service area and demonstrate a need for employment services. An applicant must be unemployed or underemployed to receive employment services. Only those applicants who declare a desire and intent to accept and retain full time permanent employment at the chosen employment location shall be selected.

Direct Employment Assistance Application: Applicants must be adult natives residing within the service area and demonstrate a need for employment services. Applicants must be unemployed or underrepresented to receive employment services.
