The Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma CCDF Program will hold a public hearing for the 2023-2025 CCDF Preprint plan. This will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 12:00pm-2:00pm. The address for the hearing is 335588 E. 750 Rd., Perkins, Ok 74059.
Early Headstart
Early Head Start (EHS) is a federally funded program for pregnant women and children birth to age three serving low-income families living in Payne, Lincoln, and Logan County. Early Head Start provides comprehensive services in the areas of education, health, mental health, nutrition, disabilities, and parent involvement. Eligibility is based on income and may include pregnant and parenting teens, children in foster care, families facing homelessness, and children with disabilities.
Services Offered
- Developmental screenings and assessments
- Developmentally appropriate curriculum including school readiness
- Healthy meals and snacks
- Free diapers, wipes, and formula
- Family goal planning
- Activities to strengthen the parent-child relationship with parent curriculum
- Health, nutrition, and mental health referrals
- Leadership opportunities
- Quarterly Home Visits and/or Parent-Teacher Conferences
Program Options
Center Based
Early Head Start promotes the physical, social and emotional, and cognitive development of infants and toddlers through safe and nurturing practice. Services delivered are primarily in a mixed age group setting (10 months- 36 months). Staff members visit family homes at least twice per year and support the child’s primary caregiver as the child’s first teacher.
Expectant Families Program
Early Head Start provides expectant families support to promote healthy prenatal outcomes, enhance the development of very young children and promote healthy families. With the help of staff, each family will identify strengths, needs, and goals. Services are delivered in the home monthly. Group meetings are scheduled throughout the month to enhance knowledge and new skills.
Home Based Program
Home Based provides a more flexible program in the home weekly. Families learn together and use items from home that promote learning and development, families and educator become partners and work towards preparing the child for school. Playgroups are scheduled to foster learning through socialization.
Hours of Operation
Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 2:00pm. (No cost to qualifying families.)
Early Childhood Program
The Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma Child Care Program is operated and funded through Administration of Children and Families. Child Care offers services to children 6 weeks – 3rd grade. The center is open from 7:00am – 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. The program provides comprehensive services and promotes physical, cognitive, social and emotional development for children six weeks through 3rd grade with safe and nurturing practice. Children are also provided nutritious meals and snacks.

Expectant Families
Tribal Childcare Assistance for Native Families
Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma Child Care grant is funded through the Administration for Children & Families. The goal is to increase the availability, affordability, and quality of child care in the service area. The program assists eligible Native American families with the cost of child care.
